The world’s youngest painter, according to the Guinness World Records, is one-year-old Ace-Liam Nana Sam Ankrah.
Ace-Liam Nana Sam Ankrah from Ghana discovered the joy of painting when he was only six months old, according to his mother, Chantelle Kuukua Eghan.
The Guinness World Records awarded him the title of the world’s youngest male artist at just one year and 152 days old.
His mother, Eghan, is also a renowned artist and was working on an art piece for the Miss Universe beauty pageant in 2023.
To keep her young son occupied while he was distracting her, she handed him some paints and a blank canvas.
The young prodigy set to work on his first-ever masterpiece by crawling across the canvas with paints.
As a single mother, Eghan was pleasantly surprised by her son’s first creation, which she aptly named “The Crawl.”
She quickly realized that her son found joy in the activity and was fascinated by bright colors.
The world’s youngest artist understands how colors complement each other, and his paintings are about his curiosity for exploring new things.
Now that Ace-Liam has grown a bit and can talk and walk, he has his own mini easel and regularly demands paints from his mom.
Donning a tiny apron and holding a small paint palette, the young prodigy creates his masterpieces with ease. Depending on his mood, he selects the paints of his choice for the day and gets to work, either finishing his artwork in a few minutes or over several days.
Eghan told Guinness that she knows a masterpiece is complete when the young artist announces, “Mama finish.”
When the walls and refrigerator of their home were filled with his paintings and space was running out, Eghan decided to set up an exhibition at the Museum of Science and Technology in Accra, Ghana’s capital.
The little artist’s display was appreciated by many, including the First Lady of Ghana, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, who even commissioned work from him.
Out of the 10 artworks displayed in the exhibition, nine were sold, and to date, he has sold around 15 pieces.
Following this, the Guinness World Records presented him the title of the world’s youngest male painter. Eghan broke down into tears of joy and thanked God when she received the confirmation letter from Guinness.
The excited mom now looks forward to Ace-Liam receiving professional training and essential scholarships to further hone his talent and sell his artwork around the world.
She hopes to inspire other parents to let their children try their hands on painting and other art forms.
Eghan told Guinness, “Every child is unique, and nurturing their passions can lead to amazing discoveries and achievements.”
