Generous 8-Year-Old Sells Homegrown Chicken Eggs to Support a Good Cause

Generous kid Ned Hutt from England hasn’t eaten a single egg from his farm; instead, he’s selling his homegrown chicken eggs to raise money for charity.

Eight-year-old Ned Hutt, a fourth grader at Barnard Castle Preparatory School in North East England, is a helpful and generous boy who has sold all of his homegrown chicken eggs over the past 12 months.

Although he only started keeping chickens two years ago, he has been selling his homegrown eggs to raise money for charity.

As soon as the chickens lay eggs, his mom messages eager customers from their village in Appleby, who promptly show up to buy every single egg from their coop.

Hutt says he has eight Pekin chickens that lay ‘some really nice eggs,’ which people love to buy. Because of this demand, he hasn’t had a single egg from his chickens for more than a year.

His customers pay 50p extra if he delivers the eggs himself. Despite losing some chickens to a red mite attack, a blood-sucking parasite that causes anemia and can be fatal to birds, he continues his efforts to raise money for charity.

The young boy stays determined to always keep chickens, saying they are “so nice to have.” He also takes good care of the birds by feeding them three times every day.

In addition to selling homegrown chicken eggs, Hutt is also involved in another side business – compost making.

He sells the eggs and compost, with the money raised from these ventures being donated to Concern Worldwide, a charity that supports 25 million people globally and works to create a world free from poverty, fear, and oppression.

Concern Worldwide supports communities by providing livelihood, nutrition, and education to those living in the most difficult situations and who are vulnerable to crises.

Hutt likes the fact that he’s able to help people who are living in poverty with his little business and efforts.

Thanks to his efforts, communities have purchased a goat and a pig and set up two chicken farms to provide eggs, meat, piglets, and milk.

The money raised by Hutt has also been used to create a children’s library, helping kids in the community.

Hutt’s school headmistress, Laura Turner, is proud of her student’s dedication and appreciates the global impact of his actions.

She even mentioned that the generous boy deserves the Heart of Gold Award from his school for his charitable efforts above and beyond school.
