Bowie the Uber Dog from Colorado Spreads Joy to Passengers and Goes Viral Online

An Uber driver, Kevin Ferman, has a pup named Bowie the Uber Dog, who surprises and welcomes unsuspecting passengers.

Bowie the Uber Dog has become a social media darling, thanks to his owner, Kevin Ferman, who creates videos and clips of his interactions with passengers.

Ferman is an Uber driver who records videos of his pup as unsuspecting travelers are surprised and delighted by the furry companion’s presence.

Bowie, a rescue dog from Albuquerque, is lovingly known online as the Uber Dog and has thousands of followers on social media, making him an internet star.

Ferman, originally from Colorado, adopted Bowie two and a half years ago when he was only a few months old. Shortly after, he began bringing Bowie along on his rides, calling him his Uber co-pilot.

Since the pup has “pretty bad separation anxiety,” Ferman takes him along, with the fur ball sitting comfortably in the front seat.

Commuters enter the car and are often amazed by his presence, enjoying the chance to pet him.

In April 2024, Ferman launched a YouTube channel called “Bowie’s Uber Vlog,” where he shares videos of travelers delighted to see the pup in the front seat.

According to WTHR, an NBC affiliate, after nearly a decade of being an Uber driver, Ferman believed that, as Colorado is a dog-friendly state, passengers might be amused and excited to see Bowie.

With nearly 50 videos uploaded, the most-viewed clip has garnered 880,000 views. Initially, the channel received a moderate response; however, over time, the YouTube algorithm kicked in, and the first video gained tens of thousands of views overnight.

Bowie’s TikTok account has around 140,000 followers, while his YouTube channel has approximately 36,000 subscribers.

Ferman reveals in one video that, out of the 4,000 rides he’s taken with Bowie, only one commuter has ever had an issue with the doggo’s presence.

He sees it as a great way for Bowie to be around people, as the pup enjoys socializing and loves the attention.

He often wonders if Bowie realizes he’s somewhat famous in the area, as the pooch is a local celebrity, especially near the University of Colorado, Boulder campus.

Students from the university are often reminded of their own pets when they meet the gentle canine, and their reactions say it all.

Commuters enjoy the pooch’s presence and love taking pictures and selfies with Bowie, making the ride memorable and fun. According to Ferman, although it’s a simple act, it “does make people’s day.”
