A simple act of kindness goes a long way, and it did for this man who was helped by a stranger.
Last week, a local businessman, Casey Marlow, visited a convenience store in Douglasville, Georgia. As he went to the cashier to pay for the drink he had purchased, he realized he had forgotten his wallet in his truck.
He turned around and made a quick run back to his truck to get it, while the man behind him paid on his behalf.
When he returned, he was surprised to learn that Mario, the man standing right behind him in the queue, had already paid for his drink.

Thankful for Mario’s generosity, Marlow started chatting with him. During their chat, Marlow learned that Mario and his family had been evicted from their home, as per WSBTV.
Struggling financially, Mario was doing his best to improve his situation and was currently staying at a motel with his family.
Despite all the problems that Mario faced, he still decided to help Marlow out with the little that he had.
Marlow was deeply touched by Mario’s kind gesture and decided to do whatever he could to help him.
He shared Mario’s story on his social media account and urged people to help him. He wrote, “Even if it’s just a few dollars, together, we can make a big impact.”
And lo and behold, what happened next was nothing short of a miracle, not only did people from their county but even across the state rallied together and contributed wholeheartedly.
Bit by bit, the donations started pouring in and within just 24 hours, Marlow had collected a massive $35,000 for Mario and his family.
On the overwhelming donations, Marlow humbly mentioned in a follow-up post on Facebook, “This wasn’t me. I was the messenger. All I did was ask for help cause I couldn’t do it alone. We all came together and helped Mario out.”
Later, Marlow called up Mario and told him about the donations, to which he expressed immense gratitude. He was deeply moved and explained that God would provide for him and his family.
Looking into his kids’ eyes, he promised them that things would be okay one day, but he had no idea how.
As he drove with his wife and kids around their evicted house, he reminded them that God provided for them, then, and would surely provide for them once again when the time was right.
They say faith can move mountains and it surely did for Mario and his family, when a simple act of kindness in a convenience store turned life-changing.
Thanks to Marlow, Mario and his family have a safe and secure future ahead, proving that a simple act of kindness can go a long way indeed.
